Patna: Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar on Friday said that about 200 gazetted officers of the Bihar Rural Development Department have been punished for their alleged involvement in large-scale corruption in welfare schemes by withholding transfers and increments. Rural Development Minister Kumar said that penal action has been taken against the officials who have made errors in the last few months in cases of irregularities like sending crores of rupees to fake accounts and listing of ineligible persons under PM Awas Yojana and Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal Scheme in the last few years.
Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar said, "There is no place for corruption in our government. We have initiated departmental action/process against gazetted officers and supervisory officers of the Department of Rural Development of Bihar Public Service Commission for making errors for dereliction of duty. 'In some cases, the departmental investigation was pending for a few years, he said.
Senior officers have been asked to complete disciplinary action against the erased officers at a quick time.
