Jamui: A case of kidnapping and forcible conversion of a 15-year-old minor in Jamui district of Bihar has come to light. According to local media, the incident took place in Chandradeep police station area where the victim's family has lodged a police complaint alleging that their minor daughter was kidnapped. According to the girl's father, her daughter had gone out to defecate at 8 pm on May 23. She has not returned home since then.
According to the father, on May 30, it was learnt that Pappu Khan, the son of Mohammad Mushtaq, a resident of Dinnagar, had forcibly converted her to Islam. He also threatened to kill the entire family of the girl if she complained to the police station or elsewhere. The victim's father alleged that Pappu along with his colleague Mohammad Mokim also came to his house and looted jewellery and cash from the house while firing in the air. He threatened to complain, he would pick up all the girls next to you. The victim's family demanded the police to provide security to the people and said that their number is very small in the village and anything untoward can happen to them.
Chandradeep police have registered a case after receiving the application and investigation has been initiated. In this regard, SDPO Dr. Rakesh Kumar directed The Sh. SDPO says no law relating to conversion is applicable in Bihar. But, strict action will be taken against the accused as per the crime.
