Patna: In the state of Bihar, the BJP candidate has found it dearly to violate the model code of conduct. There is going to be an FIR against candidate Prem Kumar in the case of BJP wearing lotus print mask at the polling booth. This information has come out from the returning officer.
In Bihar today, voting for 71 assembly seats in 16 cities is going on for the first phase. This case of violation of the code of conduct is of Gaya Urban seat. Agriculture Minister Prem Kumar Election is fighting in Bihar government on BJP ticket from this seat. Prem Kumar has been MLA seven times, but when he went to cast his vote on Wednesday morning, he went inside with a lotus imprint mask worn for protection from COVID-19.
In this case, when Prem Kumar was questioned about the code of conduct violation, he told that he had no such intention. But after the report came in the media, the Returning Officer has taken cognizance of this and has said to file an FIR against the candidate. Significantly, assembly elections are taking place in Bihar in the midst of COVID-19 crisis. The Election Commission has also formulated all kinds of guidelines to avoid COVID-19. A checkup of voters is also being done. They have also been asked to wear masks. But at the polling booth, there is no approval to wear any cloth or any other thing with the election symbol of any party.
