Munger: The gang that hunted women who go to the temple to worship has been busted. When the video of the rape of the woman went viral, DIG took cognizance of the case. One accused has also been arrested from Gogachak in Tarapur. The accused used to drag women into bushes in deserted places on the way to the temple and carry out the rape. He also threatened to kill someone if they told anyone.
In the case, Tarapur police arrested 28-year-old Rupesh Kumar, son of Kailash Prasad, a resident of Gogachak and produced before the DIG. Indeed, a video of a woman raping a woman a few days ago went viral on social media. Taking cognisance of this, DIG Manu Maharaj had directed Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
When the video was scrutinized, the rape accused was identified as Rupesh Kumar, a resident of Tarapur. He was taken into custody by the Tarapur police on Thursday evening from his house in Gogachak. The gang reportedly split up and the video went viral by gang members and revealed the heinous crime.
