Patna: Who does not know Ustad Gopal, a well-known swimmer of Bihar, but recently some news related to him has come up. The national level swimmers who have won medals in many competitions is now selling tea for making livelihood.  Gopal is running a small tea shop in Nayatola in Kazipur in Buxar district. There is another example of the state of sportsmen and sports in Bihar who are suffering due to the apathy of the system.

Gopal wanted to become an international level swimmer. He is now forced to sell tea due to his poor financial system so that he can take care of his family. The name of his tea shop is 'National Swarm Tea Stall'. When asked why he named it, he said that it sheds light on the plight of all athletes.

According to the information received, Gopal hopes that it will make people aware that a national level swimmer is living his life by selling tea. In 1987, Gopal first represented Bihar in the national swimming competition held in Kolkata. He then excelled in the national swimming competition held in Kerala in 1988 and 1989. Where he had secured first position in the 100 meter backstroke competition at the state championships held at BCA Danapur in 1988. In 1990, he went to interview for a job in the postal department but did not get the job. He is the only one who teaches swimming in the Gopal Ganga river today.

If you talk to the sources, then they say that it has worked to keep the swimmer inside them alive. Where he said that his sons Sunny and Sonu Kumar are good swimmers but seeing his condition, they also have given up swimming. The same now their customers believe that it is really disappointing that they have to sell tea on the streets.
