Patna: The security cover of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HUM) national president and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi has been enhanced to Z Plus. The Nitish government of the state has recently enhanced his security after reviewing the security provided to VIP people on the basis of threat. For the unversed, HUM President represents Imamganj in Gaya, which is a Maoist-affected district.
Former minister ready to contest from these seats in Punjab
Bihar Governor Fazu Chauhan and CM Nitish Kumar have been given advanced Z plus security. Former CM and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi have also got Z plus security. Former deputy CM Ratan Yadav has Y plus security while his elder brother and former minister Tej Pratap Yadav has got Y category security. In addition, former speaker of the lower house Meira Kumar has got Y plus security.

Recently, Manjhi, who was part of the Grand Alliance, left Laloo's side and grabbed Nitish Kumar's hand. Manjhi is the only leader in the VIP included in the security cover notification issued on March 27, 2019, whose security has been enhanced by the state government. Earlier in July 2015, the central government had given Z plus security to Manjhi, but it was withdrawn in November 2017.
