Patna: Government employees in Bihar may get a big gift before Independence Day (August 15). According to reports, the Nitish Kumar government may soon approve the implementation of enhanced Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees. The hike will come into effect from 1st July 2021 for government employees in Bihar. It has been reported that the cabinet will make a decision soon after meeting the scheme.

So far, four states have also announced an increase in dearness allowance for their employees since the Central Government's decision to increase the DA of central employees. In this regard, Bihar could be the fifth state where the benefit of this allowance should be given. In UP also, the Finance Department has prepared a roadmap for DA. It is only waiting for cm Yogi Adityanath to get the green signal.

On the lines of the Centre, the Gehlot government had first announced an increase in the dearness allowance of employees by 11 percent. Here also, the increased rate of Dearness Allowance has been introduced on 1st July 2021. The Haryana government has since given a big gift to employees and pensioners. Here also, the DA of employees was increased from 17 percent to 28 percent, and the increased rates were implemented.
