Patna: Since the formation of the NDA government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar in Bihar, there has been a continuous series of speculation about the cabinet. Meanwhile, there are possibilities that the Nitish Kumar cabinet may be expanded after January 14. With the commencement of Kharmas, Nitish will now expand his cabinet in the new year itself.

Meanwhile, Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha has announced the names of several BJP MLAs as the chairman of various committees of the assembly on Monday. After this announcement, it is now almost certain that the names of two BJP leaders, Nandkishore Yadav and Prem Kumar, are almost out of the race to become ministers in Nitish's cabinet. Nandkishore has been appointed as the chairman of the estimates committee, while Prem Kumar has been given the post of chairman of the petition committee.

Nandkishore Yadav has been MLA from Patna Sahib seat 7 times, while Prem Kumar has been a consistent MLA for 8 times from Gaya. Along with Nandkishore Yadav and Prem Kumar, the BJP has also dropped three other former ministers from the ministerial race. These include the names of Vinod Narayan Jha, Ramnarayan Mandal and Krishna Kumar Rishi.
