Noted entertainment actor Pankaj Tripathi is currently busy shooting for the movie Oh My God 2 with Akshay Kumar. The video of his shoot with Akshay at Mahakal temple in Ujjain is going viral. Pankaj does not shy away from discharging his social responsibility by taking time out of this busy schedule. He urged the people of Bihar to participate in panchayat elections in a consequential way.

Pankaj Tripathi hails from Belsand, a village in the Gopalganj district of Bihar. Pankaj, the son of a farmer, has seen the difficulties in rural life and within him very closely. His dreams made him suit Mumbai's urban life but he did not forget his origins. When contacted by the officers of the State Election Commission, Bihar, he jumped into the idea to spread the message about the importance of Panchayat elections in the life of a villager. He understands that for the development of the country, every level of governance needs to be strengthened from its roots. More than 68% of the Indian population lives in rural India and it is very important that this class understands the importance of governance and participates wholeheartedly.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj said, "Panchayat elections are a great example of basic democracy and everyone should participate in the upcoming elections for their betterment. The beauty of panchayat elections lies in the fact that the contestants are from the village itself, so it becomes easier for the villagers to know their candidates well.'' The Election Commission has introduced modern technologies like biometrics and EVMs to standardize the election process.
