Patna: Five policemen, including Beur police stationer Praveen Bharati, have been arrested for allegedly taking bribes from the robbers and releasing them. According to the report,  They are alleged to have released them with a bribe of 1.5 lakh rupees from the robbers. The names of the five policemen accused in the case are Beur police stationer Praveen Bharti, ASI Vinod Rai and Sunil Chaudhary, Home Guard Krishna Murari and Vinod Sharma. They have been taken into custody on the orders of DIG Rajesh Kumar.

It may be mentioned that in the Naubatpur police station area of Patna, on the night of July 15-16, criminals had looted 18 lakh coins from a pick-up van. The Patna police had arrested two robbers involved in the looting case and questioned them. The robbers said the patrolling police had seized the vehicle with looted coins during the search from which they were fleeing. Then brought them to the police station with the car.

The robbers further said that the police man bargained at the police station and the deal was fixed at 1.5 lakh. "We then paid and left," he said, "At the moment all the six robbers have been arrested. At the same time, 2 lakh looted coins have also been recovered on their trail.
