Patna: Idols were stolen from a temple in Chhapra district of Bihar about 2 years ago. But now someone has put back precious idols again in the temple complex. Somebody is calling it a change of heart of thieves, someone is calling it god's grace. Police say it was his strictures that led to the recovery of the idols. However, a thief is yet to be traced.

The case pertains to Fatehpur Saraiya village under Manjhi police station area of Chhapra. Where three statues of precious ashtametal were stolen by unidentified thieves from Ram Janaki Math 20 months ago. Out of these 3 stolen idols, 2 were placed near the wall of the temple complex by the unknown. The temple priest reportedly stepped out after hearing the sound while placing the statue and saw the idol of Shri Ram and Janaki wrapped in jeans pants in a bag.

In 2012, thieves took the priest of the monastery hostage and stole all the three statues from the Ram Janaki temple complex. Several months later, the statue was recovered by the Bihar and Uttar Pradesh police in a fragmented state. The second time in October 2019, the three idols were re-stolen by unidentified thieves. At present, after the recovery of the idols, the police called a dog squad team and investigated the case closely. The three idols are said to be worth crores of rupees. However, 2 of them have been found.
