Patna: In order to prevent the rising outbreak of Coronavirus, the Transport Department has decided to stop operating interstate buses along with city services buses in Patna. City services buses have been stopped from Saturday. Interstate buses will also not leave the roads from Sunday.

Giving information, Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal said that as a precaution to prevent the spread of possible infection of coronavirus, the operation of interstate buses along with city buses has been banned till 31 March. All types of government and private city buses and interstate buses will not be operated till 31 March. Buses will be completely closed. It will be decided to restore the buses' operation only after the situation is normal.

Sanjay Aggarwal also informed that the operation of Volvo buses plying between Patna-Delhi-Patna has also been stopped till March 31. 7 buses were operating for Delhi. 120 city buses are being operated daily in Patna by Bihar State Road Transport Corporation. About 50 thousand passengers travel by city buses every day. Earlier, buses running for Kathmandu and Janakpur have been closed till 31 March.
