USA: Microsoft's unexpected event at its Redmond, Washington, headquarters was anticipated to mark a turning point in the development of the internet and artificial intelligence. As anticipated, "the new Bing" was the company's biggest announcement to a room full of journalists and creators. a search engine that performs additional functions. It is driven by an OpenAI next-generation LLM.

Google and Microsoft are gaining ground in the AI race. The pressure on Google increased with the introduction of ChatGPT, but it increased even more with Microsoft's interest in OpenAI. The abrupt launch of Bard, Google's ChatGPT competitor, demonstrates how alarmed Google's management is. It's not a coincidence that Microsoft chose to hold their event a day before Google's, which is scheduled for February 8.

The new Bing, according to Microsoft's AI chief Yusuf Mehdi, is "search coming together with chat...with browser." The new Bing search will respond to your queries similarly to ChatGPT. Mehdi claims that Microsoft will allow us to communicate with the search engine through chat. The expanded search box on the new Bing will accept up to 1,000 characters. Surprise! It is more potent than ChatGPT.

The new Bing displays conventional search results alongside the solution to your query when you conduct a search. For instance, Bing can find the measurements of both and respond to your question about whether an Ikea loveseat will fit in a minivan. The new Bing, however, goes beyond simple search. It will also converse with you.

The experience provided by ChatGPT is similar to that of Bing's chat. The chat interface won't have any links. There are numerous footnotes, though. Similar to ChatGPT, Bing's chat can create an itinerary for your trip, a summary of that itinerary, send an email, and more. Additionally, it has 100 language translations.

The Edge browser also supports the updated Bing interface. Microsoft unveiled a new user interface for Edge that includes a sidebar for Bing's chat. You can use Edge's chat feature to get the main points of the page you're on or even to compare different companies' quarterly reports. It can rewrite code just like ChatGPT.

According to Microsoft, the new Bing interface is being introduced gradually and globally. It is currently available as a "limited preview" on desktops. You will only be permitted to run a certain number of queries. People can, however, also register for total access. According to the company, more people and mobile devices will soon have access to the new Bing.

Recall that Microsoft recently strengthened its partnership with OpenAI by making a reported $10 billion investment in the leader in artificial intelligence. The company's investment served as a declaration of its commitment to using OpenAI's toolkit to enhance its products. Additionally, Microsoft released Teams Premium, which included GPT-3.5 from OpenAI. The same model is used to create ChatGPT.

And doing it all in a way that is human-like. Everyone has been in awe of ChatGPT's ability to carry on a conversation, respond to follow-up inquiries, and recall prior statements. Many believe it to be the direction of internet search.
