Women are coming forward and heading the world with men. Nowadays, it's hard to find any area where women are not involving. Whether it is a business world, politics games or any other field, women are everywhere. The honorary Sucheta Kriplani, who was borne today in the year 1908, enrolled women name to chief minister’s list of India.

Sucheta Kriplani, the freedom fighter of India emerged as the first women chief minister of India. The leader headed Uttar Pradesh government from 1963 to 1967. The  Ambala(Punjab) born lady was Professor of Constitutional History at Banaras Hindu University. She completed her studies from  Indraprastha College and Punjab University.

Before independence, Kriplani was part of Constituent Assembly and played an important role in constitution making of India as she was a part of the committee that was organised for the constitution of India. Before this, she was the part of  Quit India Movement and worked with Gandhi as his prevalent associate during partition.

In independent India, the founder of All India Mahila Congress(1940), firstly elected as Lok Sabha member in 1952 when she defeated Congress leader  Manmohini Sahgal. She was re-elected to the post for two more times in years 1957 and 1967 from New Delhi and Gonda constituency respectively.

Before being a part of Lok Sabha she played the role of Minister of Labour, Community Development and Industry from 1960 to 1963.

In October 1963 she wrote her name as the first women chief minister of India. Her role was highlighted as that time when she firmly denied the pay hike for state’s employees which they demanded in the first-ever strike from their side.

Notably, the lady has married congress leader Acharya Kriplani wh was 20 years old than her. Her marriage was opposed by her parents and even Gandhi too but as per her relentless nature, she went ahead with the decision.

The lady left us all in grief in 1974. She lived her last day in seclusion after retiring from politics in 1971.
