Ulka Gupta rose to fame as the young Lakshmibai in 'Jhansi Ki Rani' when she was just 13. Now, after a gap of almost three years, Ulka is all set to return to the small screen with another power-packed role. The 20-year-old will be seen in the mythological drama, 'Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav', in different avatars. Academics and anaemia weren't the only reasons for Ulka to take a break. Her unceremonious ouster from the daily soap 'Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi' also left her deeply shaken. Talking about the same, in a recent interview to TOI, she said, "That experience left me scarred."

Ulka feels she has grown up in a better way, without any stress. And the break allowed her to work on herself. Talking about child artists and their struggle to strike a balance between their careers and studies, Ulka said, "I feel that child artistes are exhausting themselves by taking up work back-to-back. In the bargain, they tend to lose their innocence. Ulka was also a part of the famous show Saat Phere in which she had played the role of Saloni's daughter - Savri.
