Talking about badminton, the first name that strikes the mind is Prakash Padukone.
Born on 10 June 1955, he reached the heights in badminton at a very young age. 
By the time he was 15, he was already a national champion. 
He participated in various badminton tournaments and brought laurels for the country. He earned the world number one ranking in 1980.


Not only that, he had won 15 badminton titles from 1980 to 1985.
He retired from badminton but not a lot of things ended, he founded the Olympic  Gold Quest along with Geet Sethi, who is a snooker and billiard player.
This organisation helped people to play and encourage them for it. 
He also launched his own badminton academy with his own name.

Prakash had dwelled this love for badminton because of his father Ramesh Padukone who was a secretary in the Mysore badminton association. 
He won a gold medal in the commonwealth games of1978. He was also awarded the Indian award Padma Shree in 1982. he even defeated his own idol in a match. He has won various awards from the international fecilitations too. 

Prakash Padukone  has two daughters, Deepika Padukone who is a Bollywood actress and Anisha Padukone who is a golfer by profession.
