Lucknow: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already landed in the state in view of the UP assembly elections. At the same time, the party has also started reaching out to people through social media. The BJP's strategy is to reach millions of people through WhatsApp before the elections. Preparations have also been initiated for the same.

According to the strategy the BJP has chalked out for the social media department this time, four co-conveners with one convener at the state level while one convener and two co-conveners at the area level, similarly social media officials have also been posted at the district and divisional levels. While a social media official will be appointed in the assembly. On the other hand, the BJP is gearing up to set up its WhatsApp group at more than 1.63 lakh booths in the state by September 25 and include at least 100 people in each WhatsApp group.

However, so far the party has formed the same number of WhatsApp groups at more than 1.15 lakh booths. Apart from WhatsApp, the party is also active on Facebook, Twitter. Party functionaries are constantly promoting all information related to the party and the government on these social media platforms. These volunteers have been given the responsibility to promote the functioning of the government on social media platforms and also respond to opposition attacks with facts.
