Panaji: Today is the day of decision of assembly elections in 5 states including Uttar Pradesh. Counting of votes in Goa has also started from 8 am on Thursday. Decision has to come on 40 seats in this. People have given their vote on who will form the government here, along with the counting of votes, it will also be revealed after a while. Let us inform that Pramod Sawant has again led from Sanquelim seat.

Let us tell you that the last time in the Goa elections, the Congress had emerged as the single largest party. But this time CM Pramod Sawant has said that we are going to form majority government this time. He said that BJP is coming to power in Goa. Also, on the question of alliance, he gave the same answer that we are forming the government. The term of the 40-seat Goa Legislative Assembly ends on March 15. Out of 40 seats in Goa, BJP is leading in 18 seats, while Congress is leading on 13 and Trinamool Congress (TMC) is leading in 5 seats.

Let us inform that the last assembly elections in Goa were held in February 2017. In which Congress became the largest party by winning 15 seats, but it could not form the government. The BJP won 13 seats and managed to form the government with the help of MGP, JFP and two independent MLAs. Manohar Parrikar became the CM of Goa, but after the death of Manohar Parrikar on 17 March 2019, Dr. Pramod Sawant was made the CM of the state.
