BJP corporator in a rape incident of women booked.

Maharashtra: In Mumbai, the  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator of Kalyan (West), Daya Gaikwad, has been booked for allegedly raping a 27-year-old woman from Thane. Under the sections 376, 323, 504, 506, 34 of the Indian Penal Code ( IPC) a case has been registered. He is a corporator for Gauripada area in Kalyan (West) and former chairman of the education department of the KDMC.

Last week, the woman accused Gaikwad of raping her on different occasions on the pretext of marrying her by concealing his marital status.

The victim said " BJP corporator Daya Gaikwad raped me at house of Ashwini Dhumal on September 26,"

"He said that he would marry me. I didn't know that he was married," the victim said.

The police are investigating the matter and further details are yet to come.

There is a need to take strict action against the people who try to disrespect the entire women community by raping women.
