AHMEDABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced the names of 38 candidates for the by-elections in 38 assembly seats in different states of the country. The by-elections on these seats are proposed on October 21 along with the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections. The party has decided to field former Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor in the Gujarat by-election.
It is noteworthy that in 2017 Alpesh Thakor, who was elected on a Congress ticket, resigned from the post of MLA to join BJP. According to India TV News.com, Alpesh Thakor will contest from Radhanpur. Let us tell you that he won this seat on the Congress ticket in the last elections. Another leader of the Congress, Dhawal Singh Narender Singh Jala, will contest from Bayad on a BJP ticket.

According to a statement issued by the BJP office, the party's Central Election Committee has finalized these names. Out of these 38 assembly seats, 10 seats Uttar Pradesh, 6 seats Gujarat, 5 seats Kerala, 4 seats Assam, 2-2 seats Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Sikkim and one seat each in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan And is from Telangana.
