LUCKNOW:: BJP cadres in Uttar Pradesh will celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's eight years in office with a focus on 'Aath saal, garib Kalyan' beginning May 30.

The goal is to portray Modi as a man of the people by projecting and promoting his government's pro-welfare initiatives. This is a direct counter to the opposition's claim that the BJP engages in crony capitalism.

Swatantra Dev Singh, the Uttar Pradesh BJP chairman, stated, "We will take the campaign to the people's level to connect with them. We will emphasise the Modi government's exemplary governance and measures, particularly for the poor during the peak of the pandemic. The Modi government has done more for the poor than any previous government in history." Another campaign, dubbed "Report to the Nation," will see party members and leaders, including MPs and MLAs, visit all districts to submit the NDA government's report card.

As part of the party's extensive campaign in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has requested its 2.5 lakh active activists to spend a total of 75 hours at each of the 1.75 lakh booths in 15 days. Party workers have been told to spend at least five to six hours each day at booth level till June 15, according to sources.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the party's youth wing, will also organise bike rallies around the state. The campaign will climax with public forums in every district, with senior party officials and Yogi Adityanath cabinet ministers speaking. The party will concentrate on three groups of voters: youth, farmers, and women, which it has been consolidating with each election.
