In Uttarakhand, the BJP is leading in 45 of the state's 50 seats, but Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has narrowed the gap in his own seat, Khatima.
As of 1 p.m., the BJP leads in 45 seats with 44 percent of the vote, while the main opposition party, the Congress, leads in 23 seats with 39.5 percent of the vote. There is now only one seat where the Bahujan Samaj Party is ahead, with 4.64 percent of the vote. In Uttarakhand, two independents are in the lead.
As of 1 p.m., Dhami had 17,071 votes, with 45.43 percent of the vote. He is behind his closest rival, Bhuwan Chandra Kapri of the Congress, by 2,287 votes. At the same time, Rawat had 24,745 votes, with 33.62 percent of the votes. Bist had 39,638 votes, with 51.77 percent of the votes.
In the Lalkuwa constituency, the former Chief Minister of the state, Harish Rawat, is trailing the BJP's Dr. Mohan Singh Bist by more than 14,000 votes.
