Kolkata: BJP national vice-president Dilip Ghosh has launched a scathing attack on West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee over the issue of religion. Dilip Ghosh has alleged that Banerjee is corrupting both Hinduism and Islam. At the same time, The Bengal BJP has also opened a front against TMC's Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra. The BJP is demanding the arrest of Mahua.

At an event on Tuesday, Dilip Ghosh said, "We say respect other religions and follow your religion. But we are seeing the opposite situation here. Our CM comes from a Hindu Brahmin family, but she prays and fasts. Sometimes she even goes to iftar parties after eating. In this way, Mamata is corrupting both Islam and Hinduism.''

On the statement of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, Dilip Ghosh said, "How many people died after his statement? I don't know, but there were riots even before independence, in which hundreds of people were killed. The BJP and Nupur Sharma were not there. The whole world is afraid to talk about the ideology that is behind this violence.'' Ghosh further said, "If you think that what Nupur Sharma has said is wrong, then come and debate, make your argument on TV in front of the public. Instead of talking about arguments, you are drawing swords.''
