Shivamogga: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has created a new controversy by promising to get Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar in its manifesto in the Maharashtra assembly elections. There are mixed reactions to this issue. In this sequence, now the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, KS Eshwarappa has said on Sunday that Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah has no right to speak about the famous Vinayak Damodar Savarkar by the name of Veer Savarkar.

Talking to the press here, he said that Siddaramaiah is only criticizing Veer Savarkar for making Congress's interim president Sonia Gandhi happy. Siddaramaiah should go to the jail where the British had kept Veer Savarkar captive before saying anything.

Let me tell you that earlier on Saturday also, Tourism Minister CT Ravi also criticized him for the remarks made by former Karnataka CM and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Savarkar. In fact, on Friday, Siddaramaiah had questioned Veer Savarkar as a conspirator for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and asked how he could give Bharat Ratna to Gandhi's killer.
