JAIPUR: In a horrific incident, a  BJP leader Kripal Singh Jaghina was reportedly shot dead by a few miscreants in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district.

The police officials said, the incident took place late on Sunday night when Kripal Jaghina  was returning home in his car. At around 10.45 pm, his car was surrounded by overa dozen bike-borne miscreants near Jaghina Gate. Soon after, the attackers fired on him, killing him right away.

Despite the police closing all nearby roadways, the criminals eluded capture. Old animosity was cited by local reports as the motive for the murder, but it could not be verified. His body has been kept in the mortuary of RBM Hospital, where the post-mortem will be done later in the day. police said, Jaghina was earlier the district spokesperson for BJP Kisan Morcha. He was a member of the Railway Advisory Committee at the time.

On getting information, Kripal Singh's friends and relatives rushed to the spot and taken him to RBM Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The cops then arrived on the scene. BJP District President Dr. Shailesh Singh and MP Ranjeeta Koli also arrived at the location.

The investigation is being done from all perspectives, said the Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Meena. Search for the accused is underway.
