Kolkata: Partha Chatterjee, a minister in the Mamata government, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal. Along with this, Arpita Mukherjee, who is considered to be very special to him, has also been detained. The investigating agency is constantly interrogating them. At the same time, the BJP has attacked the Mamata government over the issue. BJP said that thieves are making noise in West Bengal.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ruled Bengal is looting government money. In Bengal, the agencies are now exposing corruption, but they were being accused for a long time. He also said that Mamata Banerjee was trying to defame the agencies by camping out multi-party. There was propaganda against them. Not only that, there were conspiracies to hide this whole game.

The Union Minister further said that whether the ED has taken action in Punjab, Maharashtra and Kerala, all these people have started coming out with Julus, while the central government has kept the agency independent. The investigating agency has been strengthened. Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the TMC has taken silence with it in this matter. He also said that the recovery of 21 crore raises questions on the government.
