New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit back after the AAP government's deputy CM Manish Sisodia's press conference on the new excise policy of the national capital. Addressing a press conference, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that all the allegations made by Manish Sisodia are false. He said "Why Sisodia has woken up after so many days, the public is not stupid. He said that when his theft is to be caught, Sisodia is holding a press conference.''

It may be recalled that Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia while addressing a press conference, has levelled a big allegation against the Lieutenant Governor over the new liquor policy. He said the decision to scrap the new liquor policy was taken by the Lieutenant Governor without consulting the Cabinet. This resulted in a loss of thousands of crores of rupees to the Delhi Government. Manish Sisodia said that the new liquor policy was implemented only after the permission of the Lieutenant Governor.

At the same time, Delhi LG VK Saxena suspended 11 officials, including the then Excise Commissioner of Delhi, Aarav Gopi Krishna, for defaulting in implementing the excise policy. LG VK Saxena on Saturday ordered suspension and initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the then Delhi Excise Commissioner Arava Gopi Krishna and the then Deputy Commissioner Anand Kumar Tiwari. Along with this, the LG has also issued suspension orders of 9 other officials of the excise department.
