New Delhi: Former MSI captain and wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has announced his retirement from international cricket on 15 August. Right now MS Dhoni is present in Chennai for the IPL 2020 preparations, where he will be seen playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from 19 September.

When Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from one-day international cricket, Dhoni's fans all over the world felt sad. In view of Dhoni's popularity, BJP veteran and Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy has said that former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni should contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Swami wrote in tweeting that MS Dhoni is retiring from cricket, not anything else ... his art of fighting with difficulty is fantastic.

Along with this, Swamy said that given his inspiring leadership to Team India, as he showed in cricket, we feel that people like him are also needed in public life. MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a glorious era of Indian cricket. Dhoni was recognized as an aggressive batsman early in his career and then gradually became the most popular finisher in the history of the game.
