New Delhi: The BJP is now gearing up to link Pasmanda Muslims to the party in an exercise to expand its support. The minority unit of the BJP has prepared a roadmap to reach out to the most backward among the Muslims, the Pasmanda Muslims. In fact, PM Narendra Modi had suggested that BJP workers to focus on weaker sections of religions other than Hindus, which he specifically named Pasmanda Muslims.

BJP's Minority Front will organise a training camp in Haryana from July 25 in which a plan will be made to reach out to Pasmanda Muslims in various states. Around 180 office bearers and senior Morcha members will participate in the event, where national organising secretary BL Santosh will also be present. Information on various modules will be given in the training camp. This includes issues such as the history and ideology of the BJP, writing on nationalism, the party's development focus, history of minorities in India, role models, current challenges facing minorities, use of social media to highlight cases and empowerment of women in these communities.

Internal organizational communities will be formed in the states. Especially where there is a BJP government. Through this, an attempt will be made to know the problems of this community and solutions will be found. At the same time, the focus will be on increasing the representation of Pasmanda Muslims in the Sarkari Committees. A BJP worker said that it will be an effort to connect more people to the party and increase their reach.

More than 70% of the Muslim population is Pasmanda:-

Pasmanda constitutes more than 70 per cent of the total Muslim population and the BJP aims to reach out to them during the preparations for elections in various states and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Muslim leaders in various parties come from among the Ashraf, including Syed, Mughal and Pathan (upper castes of Muslims). At the same time, the Pasmanda Muslims include Malik (Teli), Momin Ansar (weaver), Qureshi (butcher), Mansoori (quilt and mattress maker), Idrissi (tailor), Saifi (blacksmith), Salmani (barber) and Hawari (dhobi).
