Mumbai: The big news is getting to hear through the ongoing turmoil over government formation in Maharashtra. The latest update is that at 3 pm on Thursday, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena rebel group Eknath Shinde are scheduled to meet state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Devendra Fadnavis is also reported to have staked a claim to form the government before the Governor during the meeting. It is being said that tomorrow Devendra Fadnavis is going to be sworn in as CM and Eknath Shinde as deputy CM. That is, the BJP is going to form the government together with the Shinde faction.

During this time, it is also reported that the Central Government has decided to provide Z category security to Eknath Shinde. This has been taken in view of the growing threat to their safety.

Reports say that Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of CM on Wednesday after the Supreme Court did not give relief to the MVA government on the issue of floor test. He has also resigned from the membership of the Legislative Council. Uddhav Thackeray's decision came after the Supreme Court refused to stay the Maharashtra Governor's directive to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by him on Thursday to prove its majority in the Assembly.
