New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Ghonda assembly constituency in the country's capital Delhi Ajay Mahwar has raised a demand for renaming of Babarpur assembly seat. Ajay Mahawar says Babur was an enemy of humanity, he kept the country a slave for many years.

BJP MLA Ajay Mahawar from Ghonda assembly constituency said Babarpur is the assembly constituency of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and minister Gopal Rai. He said Babur was an invader who had looted the country's identity with the power of a sword. Ajay Mahawar said Babur had enslaved the country for many years, so the name of the Babarpur assembly should be changed. He said this assembly constituency should be renamed as a source of inspiration for the youth and after former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

Gopal Rai, a minister in the Delhi government, is MLA from Aam Aadmi Party from Babarpur. BJP's Ajay Mahawar had won the Ghonda assembly seat. He not only won the AAP-held seat but also won a big victory. Ajay Mahawar registered the victory by a margin of 28370 votes.
