BJP MLA Biswajit Das Joins TMC, Says Was 'Unhappy, Uncomfortable'

Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has dealt another major blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal. BJP MLA Biswajit Das has joined the TMC on Tuesday. Along with him, Monotosh Das has also suppressed the party. Earlier on Monday, Tanmay Ghosh had left the BJP and joined the TMC. He is MLA from the Bishunpur seat.

Like Tanmay Ghosh, Biswajit Das was earlier in the TMC and has now returned home to TMC. He asked him to quit the BJP and said that he was not happy there. I had made a mistake by joining the BJP and wanted to come back. Das, who has been MLA twice since TMC, had held the BJP's hand even before the assembly elections. He joined the BJP along with Mukul Roy, but there was often a rift with Shantanu Thakur's lobby.

Das is said to have re-suppressed the TMC due to Mukul Roy's return home in TMC and factionalism. At the same time, he wanted to become an MLA from the Bongaon seat, but the party had asked him to fight Bagda. Even though he won, he was not happy here.
