Lucknow: BJP Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh Harnath Singh Yadav has demanded to include Partition Vibhishika Diwas (August 14) in the history books. He has also written a letter to PM Narendra Modi regarding this. Harnath has written 'In my view, the information of the most brutal incident in the world must be given to the present and future generations of India. For this, it is necessary to include the monstrosities of Partition in the history curriculum and teach children.'

Harnath Singh Yadav has also cited PM Modi's statement on the partition of the country in the letter. It is said in this letter that, 'You yourself said that the pain of partition can never be forgotten. Celebrated on 14th August, 'Vibhajan Vibhishika Diwas' not only inspires us to eliminate the poison of discrimination but also empowers national unity.' Harnath Singh Yadav further wrote that the people of the country should know the background and reason behind the partition.

He said, 'Most of the country's population was born after independence. Why was the country partitioned? What is the background of Partition? What is the reality of Partition? Who was responsible for Partition?... These are questions for which factual literature does not exist to give accurate information. So it should be included in the curriculum.
