Mathura: In Uttar Pradesh, there is a demand to field CM Yogi Adityanath as a BJP candidate from the Mathura seat in the assembly elections. In this regard, party Rajya Sabha member Harnath Singh Yadav has written to BJP national president JP Nadda. The letter requested to consider fielding CM Yogi as a candidate from Mathura in the upcoming assembly elections in a few months. He has said that Yogi Adityanath has gained a lot of prestige in the state through his duty and contemplation and has changed the course of thinking of the people of the state.

Harnath Singh has written in his letter, "The Chief Minister himself has said that he will contest from wherever the party says. Therefore, I humbly urge you to contest from Mathura, the city of Lord Krishna, the people of the Braj region.'' At the same time, Singh has written that he himself has been inspired by Lord Krishna to write this letter. The people of the Braj region feel that Yogiji should contest from here.

CM Yogi is currently a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. In a formal conversation with reporters recently, he made it clear that "There is no doubt that I am contesting elections. But the party leaders will decide where I will contest the elections.'' When asked whether he would contest from Ayodhya or Mathura, Gorakhpur, CM Yogi had said, "I will contest from wherever the party says.'' At present, Energy Minister in the Yogi government Srikant Sharma is MLA from Mathura.
