Rajdeep Roy, a BJP MP from Assam, has requested a CBI investigation into the alleged "custodial killings" of two Assam citizens in Mizoram. Roy stated that he has also spoken to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the matter. Rajdeep Roy stated, "I appeal to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to launch a CBI probe into the case as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, emotions are high in Dhalai, Assam, following the 'mysterious' killings in Mizoram of an oil tanker driver and his handyman. The driver of the oil truck was reportedly slain by the handyman, who subsequently committed himself after being apprehended by the police, according to Mizoram.

“I cannot believe this version. The driver was killed by few locals in Mizoram and the handyman was killed while in custody of police,” alleged Assam MP Rajdeep Roy.  The mysterious deaths of two people in Mizoram increased border tensions between Assam and Mizoram on Friday in the Dhalai region of Cachar district in Assam. Protesters blocking the Assam-Mizoram route and vandalised police vehicles have been witnessed.
