Patna: After the change of power in Bihar, the BJP sitting in the opposition is constantly attacking the Grand Alliance government over the formation of a new cabinet. It is alleging that now the state will be dominated by miscreants. The BJP has opened a front over Law Minister Kartikeya Singh. He says that on the day an MLA had to surrender in the court, how did he take oath as a minister on the same day.

The BJP has been alleging that there are too many tainted ministers in the cabinet of Nitish Kumar's grand alliance government. So let's know how many tainted people were in the cabinet of the Bharatiya Janata Party-Janata Dal-United in Bihar and the new Grand Alliance government. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on August 16 released a report quoting affidavits of 32 of the 33 ministers inducted into the cabinet of the newly formed Grand Alliance government led by Nitish Kumar.

According to this report, 27 out of 32 ministers i.e. 72 per cent of the ministers in the cabinet are tainted i.e. they have criminal cases against them. There are 17 or 53 per cent of ministers in the present government's cabinet who have criminal cases against them under serious sections. A total of 17 ministers have been sworn in from the quota of Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav's Party Rashtriya Janata Dal in the cabinet. Of these, 15 ministers i.e. 88 per cent are those who have criminal cases against them. At the same time, 11 out of 17 ministers i.e. 65 per cent have criminal cases under serious sections. In the present government, Jitanram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha includes only one minister, who also has criminal cases registered against him under serious sections. Also, there are two Congress ministers in the cabinet, who also have criminal cases against them.
