Bhopal: On Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah defended the party's decision to field Malegaon blast terror accused Sadhvi Pragya from Bhopal to take on Congress' Digvijaya Singh in the ongoing polls. Shah claimed that a Hindu "can never be a terrorist." To be noted that addressing an election rally in Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, Shah said, "A Hindu can never be a terrorist. Hindu culture has never harmed anyone but Congress gave a tag of terrorist to it. Sadhvi Pragya Thakur's nomination from Bhopal is our Satyagraha against it." Taking a jibe at Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh, Shah said, "The people of Madhya Pradesh are waiting for Diggi Raja as they want to take him on over the issue of Hindu terror. The BJP chief also accused the opposition Congress of indulging in vote bank politics. Attacking the grand old party, the BJP chief said, "But the security of maa Bharti is the first priority for the BJP."

Here it is to be noted that the BJP president also slammed National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah for stating that the party would work for the reinstatement of a separate prime minister in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, "I have been asking Rahul Baba (Congress chief Rahul Gandhi) whether he agrees with Omar or not. It has been 12 days but he is not replying." Taking a dig at Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, Shah further said, "If not Rahul, at least Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath should answer, only if he has got time from collecting money. He should say if he agrees with Omar's statement." Lauding PM Narendra Modi for implementing several welfare schemes and working hard for the welfare of the people, Shah said, "Within five years, the Modi government has done what was not achieved in the 55 years of Congress' rule."

However it is worth mention here that he also accused the MP government of not sharing the list of farmers who are entitled to get Rs 6,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKS) scheme. He alleged, "The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh is not sending the list of farmers who would be benefitted under PMKS. This is because the party knows that it would increase the popularity of Modi." Bhopal will go to polls on May 12 and counting of votes will take place on May 23.
