In Karnataka, the results of Hubli-Dharwad, Belagavi, and Kalburgi municipal corporation elections were declared on Monday with BJP leading in two municipal bodies. CM Basavaraj Bommai praised the party's performance and said the people have accepted the new rule. In Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, BJP won 39 seats instead of the 42 required to get a clear majority in the 82-member council. The Congress party has improved its performance and won 33 seats in the HDMC. While independents have got 6 seats.

On Monday, the BJP won a clear majority in the Belagavi Municipal Corporation but has lagged behind by a majority in the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation. However, the BJP is yet to elect mayoral candidates in all the three major municipal corporations. In Kalburgi, Congress suffered a severe setback. In Belagavi, the saffron party has created history by winning 35 out of 58 wards. The Congress has bagged 10 seats in the corporation, while independents got 12 seats and AIMIM got one seat. Many independents support the Maharashtra Integration Committee (MES), which is not a recognized party.

BJP National President JP Nadda tweeted, "Thank you to the people of Karnataka for believing in BJP in three municipal corporations Belagavi, Hubli-Dharwad, and Kalburgi elections.'' He further said, "Thank you for the pro-people policies of Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi. We have won the Belagavi Municipal Corporation for the first time. It is a matter of pride that the Karnataka BJP has emerged as the largest party in the Hubli-Dharwad Corporation and has performed very well in the Kalburgi Corporation.''
