BJP releases third list of 36 candidates,Sambit Patra to field from Puri

New Delhi: As just few days left for upcoming Lok Sabha elections, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on late Friday night released its third list of 36 candidates for the elections, fielding party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra from Puri constituency. The list includes names for five states-Andhra Pradesh, which will go to polls in the first phase on April 11, Maharashtra, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya. The list was announced by Union minister JP Nadda.

 The  Saffron party has  nominated 23 candidates for Andhra Pradesh, six for Maharashtra, five for Odisha, and one each for Assam and Meghalaya.

 Meanwhile, the saffron party also announced the second list of one candidate for Daman and Diu, which will go to polls in the third phase of the elections on April 23. Lalubhai Patel will fight from Daman and Diu Parliamentary constituency.

party's Central Elections Commission's (CEC) tmeeting presided over by BJP president Amit Shah and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and other members of CEC took the decision.

In 2014 elections, the NDA had formed the government with 336 Lok Sabha seats after the BJP secured an absolute majority by winning 282 seats out of the total 545 (two nominated). The Congress party that faced a huge debacle at the hands of the saffron party managed to win only 44 seats.
