Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah will address a mega rally in Mumbai on Friday on the occasion of the party’s 38th foundation day .here he will formally kick off the BJP’s campaign for the 2019 elections. Saffron Party workers from across Maharashtra are likely to meet at the MMRDA grounds in Mumbai’s BKC area.

Apart from the BJP leaders, Union Ministers from Maharashtra will also attend the rally. Amit Shah arrived in Mumbai on Thursday and chaired a conference with the party’s Maharashtra core committee. After the jumbo rally, Shah is also likely to address a press conference. Mumbai Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the huge rally as trains, buses and jeeps have been arranged to take the party workers to the Mumbai ground.

“We have a team of 25 youths comprising women, Dalits, OBCs and Adivasis for manning each booth in the state. There are 315 booths in each Assembly constituency. This takes the total number of booth workers in each constituency to 7,500," said state unit president Raosaheb Danve as speaking to PTI recently.

In the core meeting on Thursday, Shah talked about issues such as the expansion of the organizational base at the booth level and establishment of hi-tech party offices in every district of the state.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, state BJP chief Raosaheb Danve, Revenue minister Chandrakant Patil, former cabinet minister Eknath Khadse and Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar. The meeting was held at a luxury hotel in Bandra.
