New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized a statement by former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah asking whether questioning the sovereignty of the country suits an MP. BJP spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra said that Abdullah, in an interview, made a seditious remark that "If he ever got a chance in the future, he would withdraw Section 370 with the help of China".

He said that Farooq Abdullah has justified China's expansionist mindset in his interview. Patra said that Abdullah has also said that it would be better if we can join China. Questioning Abdullah's attitude, Patra said that questioning the sovereignty of the country, questioning the independence of the country, does it suits an MP? Is this not an anti-national thing? Patra said that Farooq Abdullah had asked India "Whether Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) belongs to your father, which you will take, whether Pakistan has worn bangles".

Patra further said that the kind of softness about Pakistan and China and the attitude he has for India, these things raise a lot of questions. If we go in the past and listen to the recent statements of Rahul Gandhi, you will see that these are two sides of the same coin. Rahul Gandhi said a week ago that the PM is coward and scared. Patra said that by questioning surgical strikes and airstrikes, Rahul Gandhi became a hero in Pakistan, today Farooq Abdullah has become a hero in China.
