Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson ANS Prasad proposed on Tuesday that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, should join the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and undergo training to gain a better understanding of the organization.

Prasad criticized Gandhi for commenting on the RSS without sufficient knowledge. "It's incorrect for Rahul Gandhi to comment on the RSS without a proper understanding of the organization. In my previous statement, I suggested that he should join the RSS and undergo training to gain a deeper insight. If given the chance, Rahul Gandhi should consider joining the RSS to broaden his perspective," Prasad said.

The remarks followed Gandhi's recent comments during a visit to Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where he outlined the challenges facing the Congress party and the opposition. Gandhi stated that the two main challenges are contesting elections and "undoing the damage" caused by the BJP-RSS.

He expressed confidence in winning upcoming elections but emphasized the difficulty of reversing what he perceives as damage to institutions by the BJP and RSS. "There is a huge set of structures that are being used to attack the opposition—investigative agencies, the legal system. That has to stop. The real challenge is to make institutions neutral again," Gandhi remarked.

Earlier, Gandhi also commented on the ideological differences between the RSS and Congress, stating that the RSS views India as a singular idea, while Congress sees India as a collection of diverse ideas.
