BJP urges Home Minister to provide protection to cast and crew of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’

Anupam Kher starrer upcoming film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ got into trouble just one day after the release of its trailer. Recently, Maharashtra Youth Congress raised objections over the movie which is based on the life of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and demanded prior screening to ensure that all the scenes are factually correct. Now, BJP Aligarh spokesperson Dr Nishit Sharma has appealed to Home Minister Rajnath Singh to provide protection to the cast and crew of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’.

 Sharma wrote a letter Home Minister in which he wrote that it is possible that actors, director, producer and other people associated with the film might be harmed by certain rogue elements from within the Congress party.  BJP spoke person also urged the Home Minister to provide security to them during the promotion and till the film gets release.

Earlier, The Congress party also slammed the BJP for sharing the trailer of the film on its political handle and said that the film “misrepresented the facts”.

The film 'The Accidental Prime Minister’ is based on the book written by ex-PM Manmohan Singh’s advisor Sanjaya Baru. It portrays the life of former Prime Minister when he served as the PM of nation.
