Kolkata: West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit president Dilip Ghosh was stopped by the police from visiting the Amphan affected areas in 24 Parganas district. Dilip Ghosh wanted to go to the storm affected areas and know the condition there. He was allegedly stopped by the police for not passing the lockdown.

Ghosh said, 'The police did not allow me to visit saying that I do not have 'lockdown pass'. I wanted to see the affected areas of 24 Parganas district. CM Mamata Banerjee and her ministers can travel anywhere but not BJP leaders. Ghosh has said, 'They want to stop the BJP at all costs. People are not getting relief. Neither good water is reaching the people, nor are they getting electricity. We are being prevented from reaching them.'

According to news agency PTI, Dilip Ghosh said that if the state government tries to stop us, it will be responded to. Police clashes also took place with other BJP workers going with Dilip Ghosh. He pushed and tried to clear the way. This has happened when PM Narendra Modi and Mamta Banerjee visited together on Friday.
