Bhubaneswar: On Wednesday, BJP workers in Puri threw eggs at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's motorcade in protest of the state government's inactivity in the kidnapping and murder of a teacher in Kalahandi, Odisha. When Patnaik was coming to Bhubaneswar after attending the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Rs 331 crore Heritage Corridor Project in Puri, the incident occurred at Government Hospital Chowk.

While Patnaik's convoy went by, BJP members waved black banners at him. Earlier, police apprehended three members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress-linked NSUI for displaying black flags to Patnaik in Puri."Our workers headed by Jayant Das have attacked the CM convoy and hurled eggs," BJYM State Unit President Irashish Acharya told the reporters in Bhubaneswar. 'Until Patnaik takes action against some of his corrupt ministers, the protest will continue.'

Bjp workers also cleansed the road by spraying dung-mixed water on the Grand Road in front of the Jagannath temple, claiming that the 'tainted' state politicians who attended the foundation stone laying event had contaminated it.
