The BJP has called a 12-hour bandh on Monday to protest against the violence and alleged rigging in the civic polls in West Bengal. Describing these elections as a joke, the party has also announced a movement against the West Bengal government. Due to the bandh, where trains are running as usual, government and private buses are also operating limited. This has started affecting the movement as well. During this, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has also remembered Election Commissioner (SEC) Saurav Das. The Bengal government has said that Das is going to report to the governor in the afternoon. The bandh is going to be from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday. Elections to 107 municipalities have also been held in West Bengal on Sunday.

76.51 percent of the votes have also been cast in the election. Bengal BJP has also written a letter to the state election commissioner alleging violence and rigging in these elections. In the letter, they have also complained about violence, attacks, arson and complete failure of law and order machinery in 108 municipalities in the voting held on February 27. The party has also accused the workers of the ruling TMC as well as the complicity of election officials and the state police-administration in the violence.  The party declared these elections to be invalid. The ruling Trinamool, however, has denied these allegations. Clashes between workers and police in Bailurghat: There is news of a clash between BJP workers and policemen in Bailurghat amid the bandh. State BJP President Sukant Majumdar has said that our workers were beaten up. Police is working as TMC cadre. It is against democracy.

Joke of democracy: Samik Bhattacharya: Bengal BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya has said that this is not voting but a joke of democracy. In every municipality from South to North Bengal, the goons of the ruling party have made elections a spectacle. In protest, a 12-hour Bengal bandh has been called on Monday. Sporadic incidents of violence, no one died, no bullet was fired: On the other hand, Bengal DGP Manoj Malviya has said that there were sporadic incidents of violence during the polling. There has been no report of any death or shooting. The police have taken action in all the cases of violence.
