New Delhi: The BJP has suspended Nupur Sharma from the party. According to sources, his suspension has been processed following the controversial remarks on The Prophet Mohammed. Earlier, in an attempt to quell the uproar over the alleged controversial statement on Prophet Mohammad, the BJP on Sunday said it respects all religions and does not accept insults to the revered people of any religion.
Amidst the controversy arising out of Nupur Sharma's statement, BJP general secretary Arun Singh issued a statement saying that his party does not accept any idea that would harm the sentiments of any religion or sect. "The BJP neither accepts nor encourages any such idea.''
This statement, officially issued by the BJP, does not mention any case or statement. It is worth mentioning that there is a crore in the Muslim community about Sharma's statement. Singh said, "In the thousands of years of India's journey, every religion has blossomed and flourished. The BJP believes in all sects. The BJP does not accept insults to the worshipers of any religion.'' He said that the constitution of the country is also expected to respect every citizen of India of all religions. "In the 75th year of Independence, in this Amrit Kaal, while continuously strengthening the spirit of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat', we have to give top priority to the unity, integrity and development of the country.''
