Bengaluru: Attacking Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Congress leader KC Venugopal said that Saffron party is  trying to destabilise the ruling coalition in Karnataka. Venugopal claimed that BS Yeddyurappa offered Rs 10 crore per MLA and added that the BJP unit president is in touch with 18 MLAs.

Venugopal’s allegation comes after CM HD Kumaraswamy in a press conference yesterday released two audio clips and claimed that former chief minister and BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa was trying to lure the MLAs to topple the Congress-JD(S) government. Venugopal further said that Yeddyurappa is offering minister post to 12 MLAs while 6 others have been offered chairman posts in different boards. Further he claimed, he is also offering election expenses to MLAs after they resign, said Venugopal and alleged that the speaker has been offered Rs 50 crore for not disqualifying his MLAs. According to Alappuzha MP, names of PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah has also been mentioned in the audio clips and it seems that Operation Kamal is being managed by Yeddyurappa himself.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also attacked the saffron party  and asked, “Has the SC become a 'jebi dukaan' of BJP?” “In what capacity is Yeddyurappa discussing approaching SC judges to get the case right? Have Narendra Modi and Amit Shah given them such assurances?”

While the ruling coalition in Karnataka has been accusing the BJP of trying to oust the nine-month-old government. Saffron party has rejected the allegation.
