Panchkula: BJP MP Ambala Rattan Lal Kataria on Saturday made an offensive remark on Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Arracking Party President, said that even though Rajiv Gandhi died but he couldn't wash away the Bofors stains and the same party was now questioning the Narendra Modi-led NDA government.
According to the report of ANI, Kataria said, "Iska baap to mar gaya, Rahul ka, Bofors kaand kelaaga chunri mein daag mitaaoon kaise, wo to issdunia se chala gaya aur daag mite nahi. Aur wohamein keh rahe hain. (how can they wash away the Bofors stains? Rahul father died but the stains are still there and still, they are questioning us.)"
The satement of Kataria came in wake of Rafale deal. Since the last parliamentary session, Congress has been trying to corner the BJP alleging "corruption" in the multi-billion dollar Rafale fighter jet deal.
Recently in Congress Working Committee meet, Rahul Gandhi targeted the PM over Rafale deal giving a clear signal of what will the party's focus point in the elections. Rahul has accused the PM of corruption saying that he gave Rs 3600 crore to businessman Anil Ambani. Anil Ambani's company was chosen by Dassault as offset partner in the Rafale deal. Rahul had mocked Anil by saying that Ambani won't even be able to make a paper plane.
