BJP's Sixth list of 34 candidates is out now: Gujarat assembly polls

PM party (BJP) on Monday reveals its sixth list of 34 candidates for the forthcoming Gujrat assembly election.

Out of 34 candidates from the sixth list, 12 are from the Patidar community.The approved candidates were Laljibhai Prajapati from Palanpur, Shashikantbhai Pandya from Deesa, Ashokbhai Patel from North Gandhinagar, Lavingji Thakor from Radhanpur, Jainarayanbhai Vyas from Siddhpur and others.Today is the last date for filing the nomination for the second phase of Gujrat polls.Earlier on November 24, the BJP released its fifth list of 13 candidates.

The first list from Bharti Janta Party is of 70 candidates on November 17 while the second list was released on November 18 which revealed the nomination of 36 candidates and the third list of 28 candidates was released on November 20.

In the fourth list, of the Bharti Janta Party named only one candidate: Piyushbhai Desai as its candidate from Navsari.The polling for the two-phase elections in the state will take place on December 9 and 14 and votes will be counted on December 18.The Gujarat Assembly has 182 seats.

The Congress party also on Sunday night issued its third list of 76 candidates for the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly Polls, the filing of nominations for that ends tomorrow.

The Congress party, which has been looking for to get out the BJP from power in the western state, in advance declared the names of 86 candidates in two phases.

The Congress party, however, could not confirm the names of its nominees in 20 more seats.

Congress general secretary Oscar Fernandes issued the third list to the media tonight.

The released list marked at least 11 contestants from Scheduled Tribes and three from Scheduled Caste communities.
